Hello

Hello, my name is Sophie, I am based in the city of York in North Yorkshire, UK.
 
As a child I was always drawn to creativity, my childhood was spent drawing and painting, my little sister always asking me to draw pictures of princesses for her to colour in. As a teenager my passion grew deeper and I would spend a lot of my spare time (and time I probably should've been focusing on maths and science) drawing, sketching and designing. Art was my outlet and it still is to this day. 
It wasn't until I had my first child at 22 when I first purchased a second-hand camera. It was all very new to me - I knew what I wanted my photographs to look like but I had zero idea how the technicalities of a camera worked (maybe I should have paid more attention in science and technology after all instead of doodling my classmates names in graffiti on demand)
 
I look back at those first years of motherhood so fondly, I photographed my son endlessly and taught myself how to use my camera and how to light my images properly and how to edit them. As time went on I had friends ask me to take photos for them of their families and it was then I realised I can turn this passion of mine into a career, and the rest is history.

That was 14 years ago and since then I have had photographed hundreds, possibly thousands of clients. I began as a newborn and baby photographer and in 2017 I began photographing weddings. My wedding work has taken me across the globe, from Europe to the Greek Islands. I have photographed high-profile clients and had my work featured in world-recognised publications with front covers and full spreads in magazines such as OK & Hello Magazine. My work has been featured on Netflix, E4, GMTV and ITV’s This Morning and I have been frequently published in national and international newspapers. It has been a ride and I have loved every minute!

I have always had a deep passion for creating art through the lens and a natural eye for detail and moments, I approach every single job I have with love and care and I understand the importance of your images and the value they will hold in years to come. I strive to deliver a 5 star service from our initial contact right through to the delivery of your images and pride myself on my strong reputation of helping people feel comfortable and putting them at ease.
