8/1/2019 0 Comments Lilly & DaisyThese two. The cutest sisters ever. I have photographed big sister Lilly since she was a newborn and I always look forward to photographing her gorgeous little face and personality. And baby Daisy, well, she is so content and so happy, always smiling, a dream to photograph :-) I first photographed Daisy when she was a newborn baby, it's crazy to see how much she has changed since her newborn session. This is one of my favourite ages to capture, when their little personalities start to show and we can capture plenty of baby smiles. Here are a few of my favourites from this sister session, I have also posted a couple from the newborn session a few months prior to see the difference such a little time makes. To enquire for your own baby / family photography session please enquire using the contact form at the bottom, I would love to hear from you and welcome you to my little studio :-) ... ... and I just couldn't resist adding a few favourite's from Daisy's newborn session, how much little ones change in such a short amount of time! ...
7/31/2019 0 Comments Maisie's Newborn SessionWhen Nick contacted me him and his lovely wife were expecting their first baby and he wanted to get her the perfect gift. He decided to get her a voucher for a maternity and newborn session to capture her with her beautiful bump and also their new little baby when she arrived. When I first met Nick and Kelly they came to my studio for a maternity session where I captured some portraits of them both with the bump. It was a relaxed session and we spent a lot of it talking about the joys of pregnancy, baby names and the excitement of what the future holds! A few weeks later I heard from Kelly who sent me the news that their baby girl had arrived safely! I was so excited for them to return to the studio with their new little bundle (who was absolutely beautiful!) Here are some of my favourite images from both of the sessions. Thank you Nick and Kelly for choosing me to photograph these special occasions in your lives, and thank you baby Maisie for being an absolute dream to photograph :-) ... and then ... If you would like to hear more about newborn photography please feel free to contact me, I would love to hear from you!
Thank you x Little Ffion and her big brother Evan came for a family photoshoot in the studio and I loved capturing their special bond. Ffion was a dream baby, she was so content and happy and Even was a little superstar. As always in my studio, the session was relaxed and taken at the pace of the children. We talked about school and what it was like to be a big brother, ensuring the environment is relaxing is really important to me as I know that is what helps capture those gorgeous family images. My favourites from this session have to be the ones of Ffion in her nappy with her teddy - so pure and SO darn cute! . . . 4/9/2019 0 Comments Laura + AlexLaura + Alex's beautiful wedding at Skipbridge Farm - what a gorgeous day it was. I arrived in the morning to meet Laura in her room with her bridal party as they began to get ready. Outside the wedding marquee was being prepared for the ceremony and wedding reception and groom Alex was in a different room on the farm with his groomsmen. I loved capturing the morning as it unfolded, my favourite morning moment was when Laura's son and page boy walked over to the bridal room to show the girls their outfits - the girls' faces are priceless, they were blown away by the cuteness! . . . As the ceremony grew closer Laura was ready to walk to the marquee where Alex was waiting with the wedding guests. It had been lightly raining all morning and I was so glad I brought my clear umbrella with me for Laura to use whilst she walked to the beautiful marquee. Emotions were high on the walk there and a couple of tears were shed. I love to capture the emotions of the day, they are the photos that tell the story, the tears, the joy, the love. Every moment and detail captured to cherish and look back on . . . After the ceremony took place the rain stopped and the sun started to come out, which was just perfect as the guests could now catch up with one another inside the marquee and also outside on the beautiful farm. There are lots of gorgeous little photo spots at this venue, perfect for couples portraits, family photography and capturing natural moments such as the children playing . . . Thank you so much Laura and Alex for asking me to photograph your beautiful day!

Thank you x 3/21/2019 0 Comments Oscar's Sitting SessionOh little Oscar, what a gorgeous little boy! I love this stage, when babies can sit up unaided and I can capture their budding personalities. Oscar was a dream baby to photograph, he just sat and watched me as I moved around the studio. We chose some gorgeous outfits from my studio wardrobe collection which suited him and the simplistic set up so well. Here are a few of my favourites from his photoshoot . . .
What a gorgeous shoot to start 2019! I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing MTV Teen Mom UK's Sassi and her beautiful daughter Zena'ya and it was so much fun. We met at Sassi's home in Manchester with my beautician friend Lizzie. The MTV camera crew were there and filmed the morning of Sassi getting ready for her shoot with Lizzie. Whilst the cameras rolled I sat with little Zena'ya, eating sweets, watching Mummy get glam :-) Once everybody was ready we headed to a beautiful park nearby and I captured some natural, gorgeous images of them both together. Here are a selection of my favourites from the day . . . I really enjoyed this photoshoot (as always!), I loved meeting Sassi and loved how down-to-earth and lovely she was and photographing little Zena'ya who was a total rockstar throughout. It was a freezing January afternoon but it didn't affect this little lady at all :-) I will end this blog post with one of my faves of Zena'ya, giving us the sassiest pose I've ever seen from a two year old haha . . . Thank you, Sophie x 2/2/2019 0 Comments Anna + Wubbsy's WeddingThis was by far one of my favourite weddings I have ever photographed. It was just. so. fun! From the huge TV screen placed in the gardens so that the guests could watch England win one of the World Cup matches, to the hilarious surprise 'Dirty Dancing' routine, the day was filled with joy and laughter. It was the height of summer, the sun was shining and it was looking like it was going to be another clear, hot day. I met Anna at her sister Jess's house to document the bridal preparations. Makeup artist Lucy (@BridalbyLucy) and hair stylist Jonquil (JQ Hair) were already there, preparing the girls for the day ahead . . Meanwhile the groomsmen got ready at a hotel in York, near by to the church where they were about to marry . . . ![]() The ceremony was held at a beautiful church in Heworth, York. After the ceremony took place the guests all threw confetti for the newlyweds and then began their journey to Scampston Hall wedding venue. Anna wanted to visit her family members headstones in Dunnington, to lay flowers for her loved ones who couldn't be there on her wedding day. The three of us went there, I stepped back and documented it as it naturally happened, capturing the emotions and the love between the newlyweds. The reception was held at Scampston Hall, it is a stunning country house in North Yorkshire with the most beautiful gardens and grounds, it's well worth a visit in Spring and Summer if you haven't been before, it really is a stunning place. The sun was shining and the guests were already at the venue when we arrived, enjoying a drink in the gardens, awaiting the start of the World Cup England football match which was playing on a big screen by Media Displays. As the wedding party and guests relaxed I took lots of natural images as the day unfolded... Singer Rachel Croft sang beautiful acoustic songs during the course of the afternoon. I have photographed numerous weddings where Rachel has been the singer and she is fantastic, she has such a gorgeous voice, I would really recommend her for those looking for some dreamy live music for their special day. The guests enjoyed the speeches and wedding breakfast in the marquee (a beautiful, large marquee provided by Will's Marquees) There were little personal touches throughout the marquee, such as special framed photographs, flowers and of course the beautiful wedding cake made by Bridezillas Cakes. As the guests entered the marquee to prepare for the speeches I walked over to the table with this little lady, I had my camera in my hand and she just stared at me like this, haha, I love her little expression! What a cutie :-) We headed into the beautiful gardens for some Bride + Groom portraits. I also wanted to capture the beauty of Anna's flowers, her bouquet featured some gorgeous grey-toned roses called 'Earl Grey Roses', I absolutely loved them! Her florist was Flowers at the Barn for those who are looking for beautiful flowers for their wedding :-) We also walked through the gardens to the beautiful bridge to capture some family and wedding party portraits. I can't express how much I loved this venue! So many beautiful little spots for photography . . . On the evening the newlyweds cut their cake and then surprised their guests with an amazing surprise performance, the 'Dirty Dancing' dance routine, where Wubbsy played the part of Baby and Anna was a brilliant Patrick Swayze! There was so many laughs it was so fun! I absolutely loved this day, it was full of laughter and a wedding I will always remember (thanks to that dance routine haha!)
Thank you so much Anna + Wubbsy for asking me to document your day. If you are interested in me photographing your wedding please feel free to contact me, I would love to hear from you! Sophie xxx I was so excited for this one. My first wedding of 2018 at the gorgeous venue The Talbot in Malton. Do you remember all of that snow in the UK in March? That was a week or so before this day, I kept checking the weather app daily, hoping that by the wedding date the snow will have subsided and hopefully the sun will make an appearance. I must have not been the only one to wish this as thankfully the weather took a turn and it was a beautiful, fresh Spring weather when the day arrived. I had been excited ever since Stacie told me her plans of the day, the decor and styling sounded amazing and I couldn't wait to photograph it. I shall begin where the day began, at Stacie's Mum's house where the bridal party began their preparations for the big day . . . Fraser and his grooms men were already at the venue. I had a wonderful second shooter with me for this wedding and she met Fraser there and captured some groom prep as I travelled from Copmanthorpe to Malton. This is the beauty of having two photographers, nothing gets missed! :-) When I arrived I went to view the venue and marquee which looked breathtaking. I had visited it previously to see it with Stacie so I knew what to expect, but with her styling and details it looked incredible. As Stacie and her family arrived at the venue I captured lots of candid moments, I like to capture the day as it unfolds, capturing the details and emotions as they naturally happen. The Ceremony took place in the marquee, it was beautiful and romantic and I could feel the joy and happiness in the room. Their faces say it all. As the guests relaxed in the marquee and building we went for a wander through the grounds to take some portraits of the newlyweds. (no snow yay!) It was a lovely walk and nice for them to both spend some time with one another just catching up on their days so far. The meal and evening reception was held in the marquee, there was all sorts of fun throughout the evening, such as a vintage Photo Booth that the guests LOVED, a live band that the guests LOVED, a Gin table full of gin-tastic goodies, you guessed it, the guests loved that too! (wouldn’t we all?!)
Thank you so much Stacie + Fraser for asking me to capture your beautiful day. It really was stunning and such a fantastic start to my wedding season! If you are interested in your own wedding photography please contact me, I would love to hear from you and discuss your plans. Thank you x |
